Prof. Lars Roepstorff

When:

We are delighted to welcome Prof. Lars Roepstorff to talk about footing in the competition arena.

Prof. Lars Roepstorff graduated as a veterinary surgeon 1985. He has practised as an equine clinician both in private practice at different clinics and at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU).

He has worked closely in equestrian sports with assignment as a national team vet and as a lecturer in continuing education of professional trainers. He has headed the department of Equine Studies at SLU.

In 2011 he became Professor in Equine Functional anatomy and currently he works with applied biomechanics in three different areas; development of tools for objective equine lameness diagnostics, horse-rider interaction and equine footings.

His scientific work has focused on biomechanical studies of equine locomotion with the overall aim to improve equine health and soundness.

He is currently a member of the FEI Veterinary Commission and is the International Surfaces Expert for the FEI.

An Audience with World Number 14, Irish International Showjumper, Daniel Coyle

When:

Daniel Coyle is currently ranked 14th in the Longines Ranking having had a blistering winter season in Europe where he scored two Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Qualifier wins and several 5* Grand Prix victories including the London Grand Prix as well as many other competitions.

He is now at his winter base at the World Equestrian Centre in Ocala, Florida from where he will join us live for this exclusive event hosted by international commentator Eamonn McGowan.

Eamonn will be exploring how Daniel has risen to the top of our sport, his successful partnership with his key supporter Ariel Grange and their wonderful horses from Lothlorien Farm, including their current top horse, Legacy. Daniel will share his thoughts on our sport, his plans for the future and how he goes about walking courses exploring the different technicalities he finds. They will also discuss his recent contentious win of a $100,000 Grand Prix and the audience will even get the chance to judge it for themselves.

Please submit your questions for Daniel in advance when registering for the event or by emailing secretary@sjoclub.uk. The audience will have the opportunity to ask Daniel questions on the night if time allows.
